Marketing Show North is a two-day event based at Event City in Manchester. It is the biggest event of its kind and features over 100 exhibitors showcasing the very best in marketing, digital, broadcasting, PR, web design & development, publishing and advertising from across the North. The Marketing Show North offers a great opportunity to listen to guest speakers from a wide spectrum of the industry leaders showcasing innovative ideas which is why here at become we love to attend.
Marketing Show North is considered a thoroughbred amongst marketing staff in the UK. Since its launch as Prolific North Live, it has continued to grow in size and engagement by focussing more acutely on the entire spectrum of the marketing mix, including sales and customer engagement.
The show is a staple event in the become Manchester calendar, and this year our team attended both days and enjoyed a mix of events, guest speakers, exhibitors and interactive technologies.
Highlights from the become team…
Justin’s highlight: I thoroughly enjoyed the “Women in Business” talk. This was like a Loose Women panel with Nicky Wake, Sandy Lindsay, Elizabeth Clarke and Thea Burrows. They covered what it was like to set up their companies and being a mentor and mentee. They offered lots of advice on how to approach a potential mentor (asking for a chat over coffee and not emailing demanding that they should help you) along with no matter how high up you get you there’s always room for development and that they still have mentors themselves.
Antonia’s highlight: I had a go at being a weather girl with the University of Salford! We learnt to understand the cameras and the set up as well as to coordinate the flip screen and know where you are pointing without looking at the screen.
There were some amazing guest speakers included: Jonathan Sands OBE (Elmwood), Nick Entwistle (One Minute Briefs), Samuel Bevan (SnapChat), Gerry White (JustEat), Diana Griffiths (PZ Cussons), Jo McClintock (MoonPig) and Emma Hunt (Vimto).
